Hutchinson Island Florida – A walk on the beach

Living on Hutchinson Island and just steps from the beach, we get to see the beach most days. At this time of year it can be fairly quiet apart from the weekends and even then people are scattered and there’s still miles of open space.

There’s always the odd fishing line stuck in the sand with people waiting for that big catch and from what we’ve seen they seem to always catch something. Looking at the size of the buckets they have standing by they have great expectations.  We have a fishing line but haven’t used it for sea fishing as yet but I’m sure we’ll give it a try. If you see a tiny line along the sea front you’ll know it’s ours.

We enjoy taking photographs and took some great shots of some of the birds which you see on the beach everyday.  We got a great shot of pelicans flying over us in an amazing formation. We took about 30 shots to try and capture it all. We watched as a couple of them flew together just above the sea and then landed. If you like bird life then just walk along the beach and you will see so many different types.

The sandpiper’s are cute as they walk along the beach and they don’t seem to fly away. Presumably they’re used to people dodging around them.

As we love to walk, we’ve also found that walking down by the sea is a lot easier than higher up in the sand and even then you know you’ve had some exercise when you get back. I can’t imagine how fit the guy was who was sunbathing next to his bicycle which presumably he had cycled along the beach. We’ve only been living in Florida for a couple of years so still getting acclimatized. For now we take it slow….
